Illustrator Armando Veve was recently commissioned to create a series of full page drawings for the Scientific American's annual single topic issue. This year's theme was: 

Humans - what makes us unlike other species on the planet? 

Armando's four illustrations cover topics like our relationship with artificial intelligence, the fragile nature eof our existence and the perfect recipe that led to intelligent life, and plants and animals have evolved to adapt to urban environments.
